AFTER all the turmoil of recent days, two key questions remain unanswered.

One, which Michelle O’Neill kept asking rhetorically, is: “What has changed since the Parades Commission’s rejection of the Orange Order’s application in July, to granting their application in September?” Answer came there is none.

Secondly, why did the PSNI apparently advise the commission that they had no information there was likely to be disorder if an application to march was granted. What on earth would lead them to such a conclusion?

Yet as soon as the commission took what the Irish government described as their “incomprehensible and wrong” decision, the PSNI requested 200 police from Britain. Why, if they didn’t think there’d be disorder?

Everyone on this island except the members of the Parades Commission knew what the consequence of their idiotic decision would be.

Did they not remember that the commission they sit on was created to end the very Drumcree dispute they were going to reopen? Have they no wit, no common sense?

Obviously they no longer have any credibility and must resign because of the damage they’ve caused to politics and society in the north.

None of that, however, absolves the real culprits in the........
