Thankfully Nikki Glaser killed it as the host of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, because the rest of the night played out like a sloppy shitshow.

The 82nd annual Golden Globes aired Jan. 5 with arguably the best host that any award gala has seen in a very long time, but even Glaser’s quit-wit and edgy humor couldn’t detract from the glitches, awkward moments and horrible outfits. There were some seriously bizarre things going on with this program that made it challenging to watch, and some moments that were downright cringey.

One would think that an award show dedicated to the very best in Hollywood would be able to get their camera angles and technology right — but that was not the case at all. This year’s Golden Globes forced presenters to stand at an angle instead of facing the audience in the traditional manner, and it was an absolute disaster. The camera picked up all the weird moments as stars attempted to shuffle to their seats by ducking, thinking they were underneath the camera’s view. One celebrity after another walked by in the background, looking goofy and awkward. They were hunched over as they tried to duck and scurry, but the show aired every one of those moments that was seemingly unavoidable at that angle.

I never want to watch a Golden Globes again like this with bad angles facing an offset camera close up not audience with some game play trivia under presenters again. That to me diminishes........
