Lessons as Swindon Town defeated Melksham Town in pre-season
Swindon Town continued their progress towards the start of the season with a comfortable 4-0 win over Melksham Town.
It took Swindon a while to find their feet, but Tom Nichols found the breakthrough before half time, and that could have been added to before Jake Tabor notched twice and Will Wright drilled in a late fourth.
So, what did we learn about Town’s progress as they got their second win of pre-season?

I was sitting far closer to the benches this week, enabling me to listen closely to Ian Holloway. For stretches of a ponderous first half, I found myself watching him more than the football to gauge his reaction. Along with his instructions to Tunmise Sobowale, the most interesting thing was how he reacted when Swindon did not have the ball.
