How Ian Holloway is looking to change Swindon Town next year

Ian Holloway is once again trying to evolve how his Swindon Town team are trying to play, so what changes are being made?

The Holloway era at Swindon has been characterised by two quite distinct styles to this point. Following the 4-0 defeat at Colchester United last December, the team was brought back to basics, with a method of playing which was based around utilising Harry Smith, crowding bodies around him and attacking with direct balls.

Then, after Aaron Drinan’s injury, Town morphed into a team built on Will Wright’s ball-playing skills from deep, looking to create wide overloads to open up space.

Now, Holloway is looking to take things on again, saying that he intends to teach the players “what I know” to alter the style once again.

So, what will Holloway’s Swindon Mark Three look like? What will stay the same, and what will be a bit different?
