Psychedelic psychotherapy often builds our capacity to sit with difficult experiences as a means for growth.

There are considerable overlapping practices in both Zen and psychedelic psychotherapy.

Bearing witness to our own pain builds our capacity for self-compassion.

What a sentiment! As it is so difficult to be patient during our greatest times of stress. Most of us can barely tolerate a little anxiety or sadness, or even just being quiet, let alone staying in those feelings “without purpose.” But in truth, it is this very tolerance that builds the resilience we hope to have as we traverse life. Our thriving actually depends on being able to not only tolerate distress but transform because of it.

People come to me hoping psychedelic psychotherapy is the magic bullet for their pain, and they rarely hear me when I say it’s the start of their healing journey and it will more likely bring up all their deepest pain to the surface before growth happens. They would rather believe the hype that psychedelics are a cure-all. They are not. They expose what is hidden, so that we may learn to tend to ourselves the way we were not tended to when the........
