Meaning can transform how we experience the same activity.

External rewards can sometimes reduce intrinsic motivation.

Giving back can create purpose, connection, and a sense that we matter.

Let me ask you this. Would you volunteer your time at a soup kitchen? Providing food and beverages to those who are hungry and thirsty. And, if you said yes, how would that make you feel to give your time for this cause without pay?

Now, let me ask you this. Would you volunteer your time at a Starbucks? Providing food and beverages to those who are hungry and thirsty. And if you said no, why? The big question we should be asking ourselves is: Why can two activities that look almost identical (handing food and drinks to strangers) feel completely different to us?

We are motivated to do what we love, and we don't need anything external........
