EVEN after many months, I still cannot understand why Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to launch missile attacks on various areas of Pakistan in May 2025. If the justification was the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian citizens, India acted hastily, declaring its attacks as a global act of aggression without completing investigations or presenting any evidence of Pakistan’s involvement. Even now, India has failed to provide proof linking Pakistan to the planning or execution of the Pahalgam attack.

India carried out the attack believing that, as in the past, Pakistan would face international pressure and remain constrained in its response, regardless of evidence or actual involvement.
