A new chapter in Pak-Saudi cooperation
With the objective of exploring trade, business and investment opportunities in Pakistan, a high-level Saudi business delegation visited Pakistan from October 5 to 11, 2025.
The delegation was led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed bin Saad Al Saud and visited Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. During the visit, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed marking a promising step toward enhanced bilateral cooperation. This visit came just days after both countries signed a defence cooperation pact underscoring the deepening strategic and economic ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While Pakistan has previously sought Saudi investment, this particular visit stands out due to its timing and scope. There is growing optimism that the newly signed MoUs will translate into tangible investments and business ventures, particularly in the private sector.
The delegation held meetings with federal and provincial government representatives as well as key figures from Pakistan’s private sector. Though some MoUs may reflect traditional cooperation such as financial assistance or oil supply agreements, the primary focus this time is on business-to-business (B2B) engagement where commercial deals could foster sustainable economic collaboration. Saudi Arabia has consistently extended support to Pakistan especially in times of economic difficulty.
