Migration: A major issue of overpopulation

MIGRATION is generally defined as the movement of people from one place to another.

This movement can occur within a country (internal migration) or across international borders (external migration). It is an important demographic and social process that significantly affects population distribution, economic development and urban planning.

Pakistan, a developing country with limited economic resources, is currently facing rapid population growth. With a population of nearly 245 million, the country struggles to provide basic facilities to its citizens. Pakistan also relies heavily on financial support from institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and other multilateral donors to stabilize its economy. As a result, many people living in rural areas migrate to large cities in search of better opportunities. The main factors driving migration include the search for improved healthcare, quality education, sanitation, employment opportunities and a better standard of living.
