Petrol-attacked victim in court for revenge assault on man snubbed by house party

Carl Pammen had been drinking and socialising with others at a party in a house in Middle Market Road, Great Yarmouth.

Norwich Crown Court heard the, Paul Courtney, 42, who was not known to the group, turned up but was "refused entry" to the address.

Richard Paterson, prosecuting, said Courtney later returned "with a Jerrycan full of petrol".

He said Courtney "forced entry into the property and poured petrol inside" including over some of the partygoers who he then threatened to set on fire before he fled with the petrol can.

Courtney, whose actions caused "fear and panic", was then "pursued" by Pammen who caught up with him on Regent Road in the town.

More petrol thrown over him before Pammen then "delivered 10 to 13 punches" to Courtney, before stamping and........
