Attic Brew is the brainchild of couple Natalie Brown and Billy Jewell, who live in Magpie Road, New Catton.

Its combination of offering customers a place to relax with a coffee or stop off for a quick trim has been a hit.

Natalie, who has 20 years of experience in hospitality, said: "I wanted to open a shop and Billy wanted to expand his business so we thought why not do it together.
