An NHS rollout of tirzepatide, better known by the name Mounjaro, began in late June 2025, after the medication was approved by National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Its introduction has sparked a huge surge in GPs receiving queries about how to access the drug - either as a main reason for an appointment or as an extra question during an appointment.
