The Rivers Centre, a new mental health facility at Hellesdon Hospital, is finally welcoming its first patients this week.

Consisting of three new ward buildings, a gym, a community hub and renovations of existing wards, the development will allow the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust to increase its bed capacity by 15.

But the development has faced a series of delays and compromises since the plans were first lodged almost five years ago.
