Traffic concerns raised over demolition bid for former Debenhams building

Officers for Norfolk County Council's highways authority say the site at Orford Place faces a number of restrictions because it is "highly constrained" and in a "traffic sensitive location".

Kieran Yates, highways development management officer, said in his report that contractors must consider issues like heavy goods vehicle routing and managing the movement of city folk around the site in more detail.

He said: "The removal of demolition waste and delivery of construction materials is likely to generate a significant amount of HGV traffic to and from the site.
