The new scheme at Hethel is seen as crucial to improve access to the businesses and organisations which are based off the B1135, such as Hethel Engineering Centre and car manufacturer Lotus.

The scheme was approved by South Norfolk Council last year, before the recent announcement that Lotus Cars is cutting 550 jobs at its Hethel factory.
