Just as he likes it, President Donald Trump had the eyes of the world on him as he and his Maga hanger-ons attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week.

For much of the globe it was a frightening sight, as he nakedly paraded his overweening rapaciousness, vanity, self-delusion and apparent inability to tell fake from fact.

The Trump administration did not get its way, though. The President backed off from his claim that US annexation of Greenland was inevitable. He abandoned his chosen weapons of force and tariffs, much to the relief of Nato allies.

This was the latest move in a long list of things that Trump has done in the first year of his second term that have disrupted and dominated every nation’s agenda to an unprecedented degree. He has truly unleashed some fresh hell every one of the 365 days he has been back in the White House.

Trump has always been erratic, but this chaos has seemingly ramped up in the past year, leading to growing curiosity over the state of Trump’s mental ability and if he is indeed “losing it”.
