Matthew Lau: To preserve rights, abolish human rights commissions

Taxpayer-funded ideological enforcement and punishment of ordinary citizens need to end

The British Columbia government has fined a doctor $28,100 for refusing to inject a 14-year-old child identifying as transgender with puberty-blocking drugs. This is utter madness. Not on the part of the doctor, who behaved sensibly and said injecting the drugs was inconsistent with his religious beliefs and outside the scope of his practice, but on the part of the government. Adding to the madness is that the government agency that imposed the fine is called the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal.
