On Wednesday, Mid Suffolk District Council Planning Committee met to discuss the plans for Aura Power Developments Limited's solar farm on the land north of Lion Road, in Palgrave, near Diss.

The developer said the site would create enough energy to power 18,996 homes in it's 35-year lifetime and would create 20 full-time jobs high skilled jobs in the area.

However, concerns were raised over the impact to the landscape, the impact on wildlife and the use of good agricultural land - of which 80 per cent of the development will be built on.........
