Trial date set for four accused of brutal Norwich machete attack

Three men and a woman have so far been charged after they were arrested in relation to a gang attack in Norwich that saw a man robbed of his mobile phone and his Mercedes car stolen.

Police were called to Southalls Way, Sprowston, at 10.23pm on Thursday, February 5 where officers found the man with severe head injuries.

He had been assaulted at around 10.15pm by a group of people.

It is understood the man, who had been lured to the location, suffered a fractured skull and bled on the brain that had required emergency surgery to save his life.

Storm Leake, 23, of Rouen Road, Norwich, and Georgina Moore, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday (March 10) having both been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) and robbery.

Recorder John Brooke-Smith provisionally fixed a provisional date of August 24 for a trial expected to last eight days.

The plea and trial preparation hearing (PTPH) was adjourned until March 31 when it is hoped other defendants, currently going through the lower court, will also appear.

Sean Carter, 22, of Hill Crescent, Harrow, appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Monday (March 9) having been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery.

He did not enter pleas to the charges and was remanded in custody until a crown court hearing on April 8.

A fourth defendant,  Jacob Murphy, 33, from Haddiscoe, has also been charged with GBH with intent and robbery 

He appeared in court on Thursday, March 5 and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on Thursday, April 2.
