Objections raised towards plans to build new homes in Norfolk village
The development, put forward by Mr Palmer, would be located adjacent to Mill Lane in Whissonsett.
The homes, between Dereham and Fakenham, are due to consist of two single-storey units on the eastern side of the site.
Two one-and-a-half storey properties have also been proposed on the western side of the site.
However, concerns were raised by Norfolk County Council as the local highway authority which said the plans should be refused.
The proposed development was highlighted as being "remote from local service facilities" and offering "limited opportunity to encourage travel by sustainable modes of transport".
The authority added: "It is acknowledged that there is a mobile post office which visits Whissonsett, however this offers a very limited service.
"The nearest doctors surgery, dentists, schools, vets and shops are located variously in Brisley, Litcham, Fakenham and Dereham, requiring a round trip of between six and 20 miles".
There were also objections regarding the width of Mill Lane, saying that the carriageway would need to be widened to accommodate the introduction of further traffic brought by the development.

A planning, design and access statement on behalf of the applicant said that the homes would represent "a sustainable form of development".
The statement added that the development would help to support the services and facilities within the local area and contribute to supporting the local community.
It was also mentioned that the homes will be self-build properties, which the statement said had benefits that would outweigh any possible harm that could be caused.
A decision on the outline application is due to be made by Breckland Council at a later date.
The proposals can be viewed in full on the council's planning portal, using the reference PL/2026/0253/OMIN.
