Lorry fears raised as brickworks set to aid £59m flood defence scheme

Suffolk County Council's Development and Regulation Committee met in Ipswich on Monday, September 22 and voted unanimously in favour of proposals to begin extracting clay from the Gisleham Brick and Pipeworks site, near Lowestoft.

Proposals to amend conditions to the application that was given the go-ahead nine years ago were approved despite traffic and safety fears.

The variation of conditions application from Mick George Ltd "to amend the sequence of working" at the Gisleham site will change the phasing order of clay extraction.
