They also turned their lights off when officers activated blue lights and sirens, and carried out several dangerous manoeuvres such as undertaking at speed.

It happened on the major road between Thetford and Larling just before 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Police lost the vehicle when the chase moved off the A11 and on to the B1111.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "The Fiesta passed a number of motorists on the A11 and we are asking anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage of the vehicle to get in touch.

"We would also encourage the driver to come forward and speak with us."
