Norfolk ping pong star celebrates 100th birthday... still playing the game she loves
Edna Fletcher will celebrate her centennial birthday today and still plays the game she loves.
She keeps her mind and body fit by playing table tennis at least once a week - "or whenever there is a spare table" at Bracecamp Parish Hall in Ormesby St Margaret, near Great Yarmouth.
On Tuesday she took her usual place at the club for her weekly game ahead of her birthday today..
A former World Veteran and European table tennis champion, Mrs Fletcher’s career has spanned decades, taking her across the globe and earning her dozens of medals.
She began playing at just 14 years old at a youth club during the Second World War and quickly discovered a lifelong passion.
