Crunch vote to back £1bn deal and elected mayor for Norfolk and Suffolk nears
Members of Norfolk County Council's Conservative-controlled cabinet will consider whether to accept the Labour government's deal to transfer powers to the two counties.

The deal would give powers for issues such as transport, housing, jobs and adult education from Whitehall to Norfolk and Suffolk, along with a 30-year multi-million pound investment fund.
But the deal is contingent on the creation of an elected mayor for Norfolk and Suffolk, to be elected next May, who would head up a new county combined authority, also including Norfolk and Suffolk councillors.
