An officer's report said outline proposals for two "modest" three-bedroom houses in the garden of West Lee, on Town Lane had already been approved.
It said the development would not have "adverse impacts" on its neighbours, adding: "The immediate surrounding area comprises of similar sized houses and plots to those proposed on the submitted plans."

But two locals objected, with one posting on the council's planning portal: "I see that they are proposing squeezing two substantial two storey houses in the garden of West Lee.
"This is on Town Lane which is a quiet community which has been encroached on in the recent years by severe overdevelopment. "

Another added: "This will be an overdevelopment of the site and potentially impact the wildlife, particularly the bird population."
