'I've had to make myself redundant to keep staff' - Landlord on late-night pub plan

Paul Sandford, landlord of the Railway Tavern in Dereham, said the late-night pub trade "no longer exists" in response to the prime minister announcing proposals to relax licensing rules earlier this week.

Sir Keir claims extending opening hours will boost business for struggling pubs, but the Dereham landlord said the plans won't undo the damage done by higher taxes, which have forced many landlords to cut staff and reduce opening hours.
