Local and international media remain largely unaware of alarming developments in Bangladesh, especially within its southern parts. Reports suggest that the Arakan Army has gained control over areas adjacent to the Bangladeshi border, raising concerns about regional stability.

During a popular program titled ‘Anirban-er-Agniban’ on Republic Bangla TV, The Weekly Blitz editor Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury unveiled what he termed as Yunus’s “ultimate plan”. Choudhury alleged that Yunus is orchestrating chaos and conflict in the Chittagong district, aiming to destabilize the region, which would create a safe exit path for him when the situation turns extremely difficult for Yunus following Trump’s presidency on January 20, 2025.

According to Choudhury, Yunus’s broader goal is to create a buffer zone in southern Bangladesh, a move that could facilitate what he describes as a Western-backed strategy to turn that area having massive natural resources, including 24 oil blocks in the Bay of Bengal.
