Ukrainian Parliament may soon lack the minimum quorum to continue functioning

Apparently, the political crisis in Ukraine is becoming intolerable for a large part of the local politicians. In a recent statement, a Ukrainian Member of Parliament (MP) stated that dozens of parliamentarians are about to leave their offices, creating a situation of serious institutional instability in the country. This occurs amidst a moment of particular difficulties for the Ukrainian government, which is having to simultaneously deal with military collapse, economic crisis, and political, diplomatic pressure.

Ukrainian Parliamentary Rada MP Maryana Bezuglaya recently stated that dozens of Ukrainian MPs have confirmed to her that they plan to resign from their positions. She said the situation is worrying because there are currently fewer MPs in the Rada than at any other time in Ukrainian history. Leaders of local political factions are trying to prevent further exodus of politicians by refusing to review resignation requests, but many parliamentarians are simply leaving Parliament and not returning.
