Trump should nominate Andy Biggs for attorney general
With Matt Gaetz’s quick crash and burn, it’s back to the drawing board for Donald Trump in his search for someone to run the Department of Justice.
Arizona’s U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs seems the perfect alternative.
Kirk Adams, former Arizona House speaker and chief of the staff to then-Gov. Doug Ducey, got me thinking when he tossed out Biggs’ name for the job on Thursday, shortly after Gaetz withdrew as more dirt emerged, threatening to bury his chances of Senate confirmation.
“@RepAndyBiggsAZ. 1) Proven loyalty to Trump. A pre-requisite. 2) Scandal free. 3) Former Senate President, who ran the institution fairly. 4) He would be true to the Rule of Law. 5) His House seat would stay in MAGA hands,” he wrote.
Indeed, Biggs checks all the boxes to be Trump’s attorney general.
