AAA Gas Check: Memorial Day weekend gas prices reach 4-year highs in Arizona
As holiday travelers start hitting the road for the Memorial Day weekend in record numbers, Arizona gas prices are the highest they’ve been in four years. While the state average for a gallon of regular dropped three cents this week to $4.81, that price is $1.43 higher than this time last year.
The national average for a gallon of regular is at $4.56, up three cents over last week and $1.38 higher than this time last year. Current prices are close to what drivers were paying four years ago, when the national average on Memorial Day was $4.61.
