There is so much panic surrounding artificial intelligence right now. Parents are terrified of what it means for their children’s future, workers are stressing about being replaced, and the media is churning out doom-and-gloom stories about machines taking over the world. Everywhere you turn, the assumption seems to be the same: AI is going to render humans obsolete.

Recently, I came across an AI-generated cover of Michael Jackson’s classic hit “Beat It,” transformed into a vintage, gritty country song. Vocal tone, twangy acoustic guitar, country rhythm; it was all there. You could press a button, prompt a computer, and have Eminem sing a Garth Brooks song or put Frank Sinatra on a heavy metal track.
