With all the heartfelt tributes to the late Dolly Parton from celebrities and fans alike, one that people have possibly been looking out for is from her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus. The two were often joined at the hip as Cyrus grew up in the spotlight, and the former Hannah Montana star always seemed willing to share stories of her godmother.

Parton died on August 25, 2026, at 80 years old after a brief cancer battle, and Cyrus has penned a heartfelt tribute to the icon. But more than honoring her godmother’s legacy, Cyrus addressed the overwhelming and private nature of her loss.
