Why Bartenders Are Begging Customers to Stop Ordering This Popular Cocktail
Some bartenders are so fed up with making mojitos that they’re removing them from menus or pretending they’re out of mint.

I freaking love a mojito. Well, I did back when I drank. But making them? Different story. When I bartended at McMenamins outside Portland, Oregon, we actually had to walk outside and physically pick fresh mint every time someone ordered one. I swear, I’d spend 10 minutes making a drink that took someone about five minutes to finish. And if they ordered another round? God help me.
Bartenders everywhere seem to share that pain. Several UK bar owners recently told Metro they’ve stopped serving mojitos altogether. Fresh mint spoils quickly, crushed ice isn’t always available, and making one properly takes time.........
