Most are aware that Gavin Newsom has designs on the White House in 2028. Just look at how he is seen almost anywhere, except in his home state of California. Another piece of evidence is the fawning media coverage, and at Vanity Fair, they may have become so forward in their adulation of the man that describing it as a "tongue bath" feels like it does not go far enough.

Keep in mind, this is the same fashion magazine that cannot bring itself to feature the fashion model first lady, but this cringe-fest of a swooning profile with an Annie Leibovitz photo spread is possible. Read this passage and ask yourself: Had Newsom written this himself, would it be any more cloying and effusive?
