New Delhi: A Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) team in Assam was detained by state police on Sunday, September 27, in Guwahati, the outfit has said. The team was detained along with the party’s co-convenor and chief spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, who told mediapersons that the state government was “afraid” of CJP’s review of state-run schools.

Ranka also alleged in a post on X that the elections in Assam were “rigged” during the special revision (SR) of voter lists in the state. “Himanta Mama is scared that under the guise of Gyanesh, the rigging in the Assam elections might get exposed…Himanta Mama is scared that under the guise of Gyanesh [Kumar, the chief election commissioner], the rigging in the Assam elections might get exposed.”
