Two Palestinians hospitalized in settler attack on West Bank village

Several Palestinians were injured in an attack by settler extremists in the West Bank village of Luban al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, with two being evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, Palestinian media reported Monday.

According to the reports, settlers set fire to two tents used for housing and three vehicles in the village.

Pictures taken from the scene showed the Hebrew phrases “Zionists revenge” and “price tag” were spray-painted in black on some of the property.

“Price tag” is a term used to describe acts of vandalism and violence associated with the settler movement in retaliation for Palestinian attacks and to protest what they perceive as the Israeli government’s pro-Palestinian policies. Mosques, churches, dovish Israeli groups and even Israeli military bases have been targeted in such assaults.

The West Bank has recently seen a wave of rising extremist settler violence against Palestinians. Violent attacks by radical elements against Palestinians and civil rights activists seeking to protect them have become a daily occurrence in the West Bank.
