The latest report that Israel requests access to a U.S.–Iran MOU and was denied is being treated as a sign of tension between President Trump and Netanyahu. It is not. It is theater.

We have seen this play before. 

As I explained the first act of this play in real time here in real time, when Trump was in the Gulf before the “Twelve-Day War” with Iran in 2025, he publicly distanced himself from Netanyahu, even taking rhetorical shots that suggested daylight between them. Commentators rushed to interpret a rift. Then Trump got on a plane, returned to Washington—and shortly after, Iran was hit. The supposed disagreement dissolved into coordinated action.

This pattern is repeating now.

The idea that Israel, arguably the most intelligence-integrated ally the U.S. has in the Middle East, is being genuinely excluded from a document shaping Iran policy is difficult to take at face value. If Netanyahu........
