My world has changed tremendously since my last blog post. On January 4, 2026, I joined a group of volunteers my age, who have committed to a year of service in the south, helping communities that were hit hardest by the events of October 7 and the war that followed.

I learned about the project from a magazine article and immediately knew I had to do it. When I applied, I was fortunate to discover that I could join in the middle of the year, as the group already serving the moshavim near Ofakim urgently needed an English teacher........
