A lot of Jews are understandably anxious.

They see Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates winning primaries. They see loud anti-Israel activists dominating social media, rallies, campus protests, and party meetings with slogans, chants of falsehoods, and accusations against Israel. They see pro-Israel incumbents challenged in deep-blue districts where the Democratic primary is often the real election.

Let’s be clear: the DSA will not have the congressional numbers to dictate America’s policy toward Israel. Even if it added 15 or 20 Seats.  It could not cut off support for Israel or impose its agenda by itself. Such legislation would still need broad support in the House, passage in the Senate, a president willing to sign it.  So let’s all vote for Democrats.

A Democrats/DSA alliance can be more effective in stopping Trump by refusing to vilify Israel and by recognizing that Israel’s reality, economy and society are our shining model of a real Progressive Society.

Israel is not the villain.  It is the example: It combines a democracy, market economy, strong social supports, universal health care, school beginning at three years of age, labor protections, public investment, and an extraordinary entrepreneurial start-up culture that has enhanced capitalism while providing the social services people desire. It also frees the private sector from carrying the burden of providing those benefits, while the employees are free from worrying about benefits. They can choose where to work or........
