We have no more important or greater inner state than Passover. It marks an inner revolution that takes place within a person, where we receive the force of bestowal and connection, which we do not possess from the outset. We are all born and develop with a desire to receive only for ourselves, and when a new force comes to us, the force of bestowal, we begin to understand that an inner revolution is taking place, that we are indeed capable of rising above ourselves, connecting with one another, and investing in others. This is essentially what Passover is: an exodus from the control of the desire to receive, called “Egypt,” to the desire to bestow, called “the Land of Israel.”
