US National Security Needs a Dedicated Venture Fund for Israeli Innovation
From Washington to Tel Aviv, the front line of national security is no longer defined by borders but by code, compute, intelligence, and creativity. To stay ahead, the United States must secure early access to the world’s most consequential dual-use technologies, and few places produce them faster or more reliably than Israel. It is time for the United States to launch a dedicated, government-backed venture fund focused exclusively on Israeli innovation.
For more than two decades, models like IQT have demonstrated the power of government-aligned venture capital to accelerate technology adoption in national security. I had the privilege of working at IQT, where I saw firsthand how even modest, mission-driven investments could dramatically shape the trajectory of a startup and ensure that critical capabilities made it into the hands of those who protect our national interests. But today, the stakes are higher, and the pace is faster. Global adversaries are strategically embedding themselves in the earliest stages of technological development. The United States needs to do more than respond. It needs to lead.
