The truth about DNC and progressives is coming out

So now, according to Kamala Harris and the DNC, Biden’s support of Israel after October 7, 2023, contributed to her defeat. These claims are not only disingenuous but also dangerous. Disingenuous because rather than taking responsibility for her own role in her lackluster and visionless presidential campaign, Harris is blaming others, mainly Jews and Israel supporters, including President Joe Biden, for her loss. Dangerous because the DNC analysis foisting the blame on others was written by representatives from the Institute for Middle East Understanding Policy Project (IMEU), a left-wing, anti-Israel think tank supported by radical pro-Palestinian organizations (as reported by Axios, Jerusalem Post and other news outlets). I wonder who made the decision to select this body to provide input, if not conclusions, about the 2024 elections?

I looked at the IMEU website and found that IMEU characterizes itself as a “believer in a world where all people live with freedom and safety, a world where all people are treated equally, regardless of gender, faith or national origin — whether they reside in the United States, Palestine, Israel or anywhere else in the world.” However, reading further, I was horrified by the extreme anti-Israel propaganda, most likely influenced by or taken directly from Al-Jazeera and Hamas. For example, one of their preposterous claims is that “Israel has a history of increasing attacks on Palestinians during Holidays.” One wonders who committed the massacre of Jews on October 7, 2023, a day of Simchat Torah?

Was it Hamas by any chance? And just who is responsible for the attacks on Israel that regularly come during Ramadan? Is the IMEU accusing Israel of launching these attacks—or of defending itself? That IMEU accuses Israel of genocide, starvation and widespread torture and sexual abuse, and all other imaginable and even unimaginable atrocities, should not come as a surprise. It is clear that for this “think tank,” the meaning “of freedom and safety, in a world where all people are treated equally, regardless of gender, faith or national origin” just does not apply to Jews. And what about all those Palestinians living under the terror by Hamas in Gaza or only slightly more benevolent rule by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank?

What comes as a shock is that the DNC would ask IMEU for help and direction in putting the DNC assessment of Democratic defeat in the 2024 elections together. If this is the case, the future direction of the DNC and the Democratic Party itself should scare most Americans. Everybody should raise a question whether the Democratic party is democratic and working for the good of America. I find it worrisome that Forward Magazine characterized IMEU as “a progressive research group.” Since when is extreme antisemitism “progressive”? The IMEU is an extremist pro-Hamas organization masquerading as a leftist organization. Is the DNC misled? Does it believe in IMEU’s “truth”—antisemitic propaganda? Or has the DNC been infiltrated by extremists?

The implication is that the DNC not only threw Israel under the bus, but also would like to lead at least some centrist members of the Democratic party further towards the “progressive” left dominated by AOC, Ilhan Omar, Bernie Sanders and the like, and to increasing antisemitism and anti-Zionism. One can only shudder with fear about the outcome of the upcoming midterms this November and about who will be the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2028 elections. Will Jewish (and hopefully other) Democratic representatives, politicians, and finally voters realize the danger of rampant antisemitism or turn parts of America into Jewish hunting fields similar to the situation in Australia and Canada, not to speak of Europe? In the end, this is not just about the Jews or Israel. This penetration and influence of reactionary, possibly terrorism supporting groups deep into one of the democratic foundations of American civic life should wake up all Americans, regardless of their political affiliation.
