Q: I’ve always heard that setting up automatic payments for my bills and savings was a good idea. My former partner did this before we got together and encouraged me to do it, too. Since going our separate ways, I’ve kept up with the habit, but I’m wondering if it’s the reason why I feel so out of control with my money. My money feels like it’s gone and I have no idea where it went. Is there such a thing as automatic payments hurting your finances rather than helping you manage your money better? ~Evelyn
