Kaspersky blocked more than 1.99 million malware, adware and unwanted-software attacks on mobile devices in the second quarter of 2026, and that counts only its own users.

Pop-up ads that show up outside of an application, such as your home screen or over an application, serve as clear warnings. Adware tends to come along in a package with software that you inadvertently downloaded. At the same time, you can look through your list of applications for anything out of the blue that seems to have found its way there.
