The European Union reached a provisional agreement on its AI Omnibus at 4am Thursday, a landmark effort to simplify Europe's complex AI regulations and help businesses understand what compliance actually means.

Beyond simplification, the AI Omnibus introduces stricter rules protecting children. AI systems that can create child sexual abuse material or deepfake nudity now face stringent requirements, with compliance required by December 2, 2026.
