The US Army has asked Lockheed Martin for an additional 857 THAAD anti-ICBM missiles—when the current production rate is roughly 100 per year!
The US Army wants nearly 1,000 ballistic missile interceptors, according to budgetary documents.
In its Fiscal Year 2027 request, the Army is asking for 857 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors with the goal of creating a powerful air defense umbrella that could take on any adversary.
