Three companies are competing for the “Heavy Infantry Squad Vehicle” (ISV-H) contract, and all three have agreed to an exacting set of specifications for their prototype vehicles.

Two of Detroit’s “Big Three” automakers—Ford and GM Defense—are now competing for a US Army contract, along with Utah-based BC Customs, to develop the Heavy Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV-H).

The automotive firms will each develop a prototype and then provide three vehicles each for the competition. The total of nine test vehicles will be used in operational assessments and limited developmental testing with the US Army Test and Evaluation Command.
