America’s nuclear comeback is underway, but reclaiming global leadership will require rebuilding the domestic uranium fuel supply chain that underpins both energy security and national security.

A year ago this week, President Donald Trump signed a series of sweeping executive orders designed to reclaim American leadership in nuclear energy technologies. These orders directed the Department of Energy (DOE), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Department of Defense (DOD), and other agencies to act with urgency, adopt creative new approaches, leverage the purchasing power of the US military, simplify and streamline the regulatory process, and more.  

The progress since is undeniable.  America’s nuclear resurgence is not theoretical. It is happening. Strong executive action catalyzed and accelerated private investment and innovation. Major nuclear operators such as Constellation Energy launched ambitious plans to revive reactors that had previously shut down.  Companies including Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google announced historic commitments to support advanced nuclear reactor deployments and buy every bit of clean power they can........
