EDITORIAL: Lt. Gov. Delgado should step down
Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado has made his play.
Now he has to make a move.
Delgado, a Schenectady native who resigned from Congress in 2022 to serve as Gov. Kathy Hochul’s lieutenant governor and running mate, has made it clear for months that he and the governor are not on the same path.
He’s demonstrated the growing division quietly by being an invisible second-in-command, and much less quietly by jumping out ahead of her on major political maneuvers, including being among the first state officials to call for then-President Joe Biden to withdraw his candidacy and most recently calling for the resignation of embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams while Hochul was still deciding........
