Live updates: US Navy aids vessels through Strait of Hormuz after Iran issues warning

Iran cautioned Monday it would not allow any movement through the Strait of Hormuz, hours after President Trump on Sunday said the U.S. will assist in freeing ships trapped in the waterway since the war between the nations began.

Iranian state media specifically reported the nation would fire on U.S. combat vessels. Shortly after the warning, U.S. Central Command said the U.S. Navy had guided two American-flagged vessels through the Strait.
